The Australian National University has implemented the Digitary System (henceforth referred to as "Digitary" or "System") for the issuing, storage, management, distribution and authentication online of official documents. Access to and use of this System is provided subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use (this document) which you should read carefully. By accessing this system you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use.

System Security

When attempting to access this System, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are connected to the correct URL by checking the address bar in your browser. The correct URL for this system starts with: https://certifieddocs.anu.edu.au. All access to this system is via SSL. Non-secure connections are not accepted.

You agree to use this System in a responsible manner. You will not compromise, nor attempt to compromise, the security or integrity of this System in any way whatsoever. When submitting personal details to this system, you agree always to provide information that is correct and up to date to the best of your knowledge and belief.

Privacy Policy

The Australian National University respects your right to privacy and complies with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The purpose of publishing our privacy policy is to outline how we deal with any personal data provided to us while accessing this System. Passwords

Users of the system are requested to read the guidelines for ANU passwords and passphrases.

You are advised to keep your password confidential and not to disclose it to third parties. You accept all risks and responsibility for losses, damages, costs and other consequences resulting directly or indirectly from using the Digitary system, including where those risks and losses arise as a consequence of a third party’s use of your password.

Disclaimer and Waiver of Liability

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided on this system is accurate and up-to-date. If you notice any errors or omissions please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to the SBS Helpdesk. It is our policy to respond and correct errors as soon as possible after receiving accurate and verified information. The Australian National University, its employees and agents assume no responsibility for, and give no guarantees, undertakings or warranties concerning, the accuracy, completeness or up-to-date nature of the information provided on the system and do not accept any liability whatsoever arising from any errors or omissions.

The Australian National University gives no warranty or undertaking as to the availability of the system at any time and accepts no liability or responsibility for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered as a result of direct or indirect use or application of information made available via this System or its unavailability.

The Australian National University reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to delete, alter or move any material on the System. The Australian National University is under no obligation to update any information on the System, or to correct any inaccuracy on the System that may become apparent at a later time.

Online Documents and Digital Signatures

Documents stored on this system contain Advanced Electronic Signatures based on Qualified Certificates that are created using a Secure Signature Creation Device. These electronic documents are valid only when viewed and verified online when connected to this system. Offline PDF copies are available to download in certain circumstances, but these are not considered official copies and are for information purposes only. The official copy can only be accessed online at this System with the permission of the individual to whom the document pertains (i.e. the student/graduate of The Australian National University).
